Automotion, Inc. (an Infranor Group Company) Provides High Power Brushless Servo-Amplifier for Air Delivery System (ADS) in Fuel Cell Program with Eaton Corp., a Tier One Automotive Supplier

Ann Arbor, MI - August 2005

Automotion, Inc., a developer of custom engineered brushless motor controllers and servo-amplifiers, recently announced that Eaton Corp., a tier one supplier to automotive companies worldwide, is testing a high performance Air Delivery System based upon Eaton's proprietary Roots Blower technology powered by an Infranor Mavilor permanent magnet motor and a custom, high powered Automotion brushless motor controller.

The Eaton ADS fuel cell air delivery system has been in development for more than two years and is being utilized by several major automotive suppliers in their fuel cell projects, along with other developers and suppliers of stationary fuel cell power systems.

"We are very pleased that Eaton Corporation has selected our high power density, highly efficient brushless motor controller technology along with the Mavilor high speed brushless motors for use in their ongoing Air Delivery System development for Fuel Cell applications," said David E. Drenning, Vice President of Automotion, Inc. "The Eaton ADS system is at the leading edge of highly efficient, high capability, Fuel Cell air delivery systems that are enabling the growth and development of economical Fuel Cell applications."

Utilizing proprietary drive technology for improved unit weight reduction, power density, and overall system efficiency, the ADS drive unit powers our Mavilor PM brushless motor to more than 12 horsepower continuously, and up to 20 to 25 HP peak, while still meeting the tough automotive environmental standards required in Eaton's customer markets.
